Holiday Tree

#stampinup    #faithfulinkspirations   One of my favorite sets from the annual catalog is "Vertical Greetings." There's just something about those long trees that really speaks to me. When I saw that one of my favorite stampers, Brian King, had created a Christmas card using that set, I was inspired to CASE (copy and selectively edit) his card!!

I started with a 1" by 4" strip of Whisper White Card Stock. I used Always Artichoke, Early Espresso, and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Markers to color directly onto the stamp. I gave the stamp a few puffs of my hot breath to re-wet the ink and then stamped.  I added the sentiment from the "Thoughtful Banners" set in Cherry Cobbler. I adhered this piece to a 1-1/8" by 4-1/8" piece of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock.

Next, I added a 2-1/2" by 3-7/8" piece of Be Merry Designer Series Paper to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" piece of Always Artichoke Card Stock. I tied a length of Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon onto this piece before adhering it to a Crumb Cake Card Stock card base, cut lengthwise.

Finally, I adhered the stamped tree to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and popped on a Gold Faceted Gem. Cute!

Bold & Vertical Greetings

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I thought I'd continue the "something old, something new" theme from yesterday's Creation Station blog hop forward one day because I was of a mind to use the "Vertical Greetings" stamp set.  Sometimes the stamps just call to you, KWIM?  I was looking for a bright color to pair with the new Lemon Lime Twist In Color and I think I found the match--Pacific Point!

I used Pacific Point ink for the sentiment and I used my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to position the it along the right side of the card. Next, I stamped the tree in Early Espresso, which is quite a bold color paired with these two, don't you think?  Then, I stamped the tree top in Pacific Point and fussy cut it. I adhered the tree top to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I wanted to keep the design clean and simple, so I didn't use any embellishments (I know!). I adhered the stamped panel to a Lemon Lime mat and then onto a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base and that's it!

I'm really liking this color combo--I'm going to look for other opportunities to use it!

Just Because I'm Flirty

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   Well, I'm not all that flirty, but the card stock and ink I've used on my card is pretty flirty, Flirty Flamingo to be exact!

Last month, my Stampin' Up upline held her Holiday Catalog gathering. We made some great cards (stay tuned in the coming weeks) and we learned some great business tips and creative ideas! We also did a secret stamper swap. We swapped names and addresses and we're supposed to send cards to members on our team. I think that's a great idea!

The team mate I pulled from the hat loves Flirty Flamingo so I had to use that color on her card, right? I also used one of my favorite sets, "Vertical Greetings!"

I stamped the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo along the right side of a Whisper White panel. I stamped the topiary right next to it in Smoky Slate. Then I stamped just the heart-shaped floral part in Flirty Flamingo and just the flower pot in Smoky Slate onto a Whisper White scrap. I fussy cut both the heart and the flower pot and adhered them to the image with a Stampin' Dimensional.

I adhered the Whisper White panel to a Smoky Slate mat and wrapped a length of Smoky Slate 1/8" Stitched Ribbon around before adhering it to a Flirty Flamingo card base. I added three small Basic Rhinestones to the card for a little bling.

This is such a sweet stamp set and it's even sweeter with these soft colors.

Happy Vertical Greetings

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   My demonstrator group, the Proverbial Stampers, held a Holiday Catalog gathering this weekend. We had a great time making samples from the Holiday Catalog (I'll be sharing some soon!), learning business ideas, seeing our fellow demonstrators present fun new ideas and techniques, eating yummy food, and getting to know our team a little better. We also had a card swap--a time-honored Stampin' Up tradition!

I hadn't inked up my "Vertical Greetings" stamp set since I got it, so I thought it was about time to put it to good use to make my swap cards. I'm kind of stuck in a Mint Macaron/Island Indigo rut--but what a pretty rut to be stuck in! First, I stamped the greeting in Island Indigo onto the right side of a Thick Whisper White card base.

Next, I stamped the floral image in Mint Macaron on the right side of a 3.5" x 4.75" Whisper White panel. I adhered this to a slightly larger Island Indigo mat.  I tied a length of Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon around this assembly before adhering it onto the card base.

I love this vertical design. I love the clean and simple style. I love the color combination. Really, what's not to love about this card??!!
