Hooray For Me!

This blog posting marks the start of my second 6 months of weekday blogging!  At the beginning of the year, I made a goal to blog every week day. And I did it!! I was inspired by one of my stamping heroes, Justin Krieger, who blogs every. single. day! And his artwork is superb! So that's a double inspiration. You should check out Justin's blog (http://jkcards.wordpress.com/): I know you'll be amazed, too!

One of the reasons I started the blog was so that I'd have a place to showcase my cards so that I could play along with the plethora of stamping challenges. Playing along with challenges has helped me grow as a stamper and I've "met" some great stamping friends along the way.

Having a steady blog also allowed me to put my hat in the ring to be a design team member for Creation Station. Now that opportunity really has helped me grow because the Creation Station design team are incredible artists--people whose work I've admired for years and now I'm a member of a team with these stamping luminaries. What a wonderful and awesome and humbling experience that has been--and what an inspiration because I really have to be on my toes.

So, hooray for me! Let's see what the next 6 months have in store!

Oh, did you want a card, too? Well, OK. Today's card is based on this week's sketch challenge on the Create with Connie & Mary challenge blog. Here's the sketch:

Week 1

And here's the card I created:

(Stamp Set: Label Love; Ink: Basic Gray; Card Stock: Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Whisper White; DSP: Moonlight DSP Stack; Accessories: Epic Day Washi Tape, Basic Gray Baker's Twine, Banners Framelits Collection, Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder, Artisan Label Punch)
I doubled the Basic Gray striped washi tape by lining up the stripes. I fussy cut the panel with the "Happy Birthday to You" sentiment so that the punch Calypso Coral mat would show through just a tad.
