Country Christmas

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ChristmasInJuly   Although I don't normally like to use "traditional" red and green on my Christmas card designs, I thought I'd just go for it and see how I liked it--and I do like it! This is another prototype of one of the cards we'll be making during my annual Christmas card stamp-a-stack class. I like this card, but I think I'm going to make a couple of changes for the final card--especially since I didn't leave room for a sentiment!

I cut a Whisper White Card Stock rectangle with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Then I stamped the pitcher and floral arrangement from the "Country Home" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored this with Light Smoky Slate, Light Shaded Spruce, Light Real Red, and Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. I adhered this to a Shaded Spruce Card Stock mat that I cut with a larger Stitched Rectangle Die.

Next, I embossed a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White Card Stock mat with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered the stamped image to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and then wrapped a length of Real Red Cotton Ribbon around these pieces before adhering everything to a Real Red Card Stock card base, cut lengthwise. Easy-peasy and very pretty!

You're a Good Man

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #ProtipTuesday   Today's card is another great card we made with the "A Good Man" stamp set at the Proverbial Stampers & Friends gathering in June.  This set pairs really well with the striped sheets of either the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper or, as in today's card, with the striped sheet of the Magnolia Lane DSP.

Let's start with the PROTIP, it's one of my favorites. See that Whisper White Card Stock mat between the Night of Navy base and the DSP? You only see a little border. Well, here's the PROTIP--before you even begin assembling the card, stamp the image from the "A Good Man" stamp set in the very center of that mat and cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle Die. Who's going to know it's missing when you've assembled your card? You can do this with any die. Here's how it would look if we'd actually done it for this card.

After we stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black, we colored it with Light Night of Navy, Light Old Olive, Light Balmy Blue, Light Crumb Cake, and Ivory Stampin' Blends.

We adhered a 2-1/4" by 3-3/4" Night of Navy Card Stock piece that we embossed with the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder to the top of a 4" by 5-1/4" Whisper White panel. We adhered a 3-3/4" by 4" piece of Magnolia Lane DSP to the bottom. We wrapped a length of Whisper White Flax Ribbon around the "seam" before adhering everything to a Night of Navy Card Stock card base.

We adhered the stamped rectangle to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. For a finishing touch, we stamped the sentiment onto a 1/2" Whisper White strip and snipped off the end. We adhered this to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, we added a copper Designer Element.  I love those, don't you?!

Quick & Easy Ombre

#stampinup    #faithfulinkspiration   #ManicMonday  What better way to create a quick card in a hurry than to use a quick but gorgeous technique? Today's card was created by Brooke Outen and I received it at the Proverbial Stampers  & Friends swap recently. Take a look!

Brooke masked off a rectangle with washi tape (you can use painter's tape) and sponged on Purple Posy and Rococo Rose Inks, making an ombre effect. Next, she stamped images from "Magnolia Morning," "Free as a Bird," and "Daisy Lane" in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. These simple line-art images on Whisper White along with the sponged color are striking!

The stamped images are on a 3-3/4" Whisper White Card Stock panel. Brooke adhered this to a 4" by 5-1/4" Basic Black Card Stock mat and then onto a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base. That tiny black border between the two white layers adds elegance to the card.

Finally, Brooke added three Gingham Gala Self-Adhesive Sequins to the card. Lovely! And you can re-create this card in a a jiffy!

Grateful for my BFF

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   #FabulousFriday   My BFF, Lynn Birus, is one of the most creative people I know. I always say she can make coq au vin from a package of macaroni and cheese and apple juice. She's the one who inspired me to get more creative with stamping...and she's the reason I joined Stampin' Up as a demonstrator--because I was always trying to stay one step ahead of her creatively. Lynn is on my Stampin' Up team now and we have lots of fun creating and talking about stampin' together. I've made great strides in my art, but I'm still running to catch up. Lynn is our guest artist today. Here's her fabulous card!

Lynn is a genius with our Stampin' Blends. I can color with them. Lynn can do all kinds of subtle shading--which is what they're made for! She stamped the pitcher and floral arrangement from the "Country Home" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock. She cut out the image with a Stitched Rectangle Die. She stamped a second pitcher and colored it with Light and Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blends. She fussy cut this and adhered it to the main image with Stampin' Dimensionals. She colored the floral arrangement with Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Old Olive, and Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Blends. She colored the cotton with a White Stampin' Chalk Marker.

Next, Lynn embossed a 4" by 5-1/4" Very Vanilla Card Stock panel with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to a Very Vanilla card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. She flagged both ends of a 1-1/2" by 4" Pumpkin Pie Card Stock strip with her Paper Snips and adhered this directly to the card. Then she adhered a length of Night of Navy Checked Ribbon (retired) on top. (Our new Denim Ribbon would be fabulous instead!) She then adhered the stamped image on top of that with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Finally, Lynn stamped the "so grateful" sentiment from the "Country Home" set in Night of Navy onto a 1/2" by 2" strip of Very Vanilla and flagged the end with her Paper Snips. So fabulously cute!!

Have a wonderful weekend and come on back on Manic Monday! See you then!
